The Metallurg sports and fitness complex in Belovo once again hosted the annual Summer Corporate Sports Games of the KARAKAN INVEST Group of Companies, marking its 14th edition.
The Games opened with a performance by a vocal and choreographic ensemble from the Belovo Central House of Culture. This was followed by a demonstration from the Novostroyka kettlebell lifting department of the Comprehensive Sports School of the Kemerovo Municipal District. The performance featured Russian youth championship winners and Russian champions in the "doubles juggling" discipline.
Participating teams and fans were welcomed by Sergey Shestakov, First Deputy General Director of KARAKAN INVEST LLC; Konstantin Grinvald, Director of Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC; and Yuri Lysov, Chief Engineer of BELCOMMERCE LLC.
The ceremony gained additional prestige with the presentation of the "Veteran of the All-Russian Kettlebell Lifting Federation (VFGS) – Candidate for Master of Sports" badge from the All-Russian Kettlebell Lifting Federation to Sergey Brug, an employee of Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC who has dedicated many years to the sport. Pavel Bulatov, Chairman of the regional branch of the VFGS in the Kemerovo Oblast, presented the badge confirming the rank. Following this, the Corporate Sports Games officially began!
This year’s competitive disciplines included table tennis, chess, kettlebell lifting (a 16 kg snatch for men and an 8 kg extended-arm hold for women), a track and field relay, darts, "Funny Starts" obstacle relay, and tug-of-war. The final standings also factored in the results of a beach volleyball tournament, which had been held separately in advance.
A refereeing team led by Alexander Podoprikhin monitored the progress of the competitions. In the end, the podium places for the 14th Summer Corporate Sports Games of KARAKAN INVEST Group went to:
* 1st Place: Management Team of Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC
* 2nd Place: Mining and Transport Department Team of Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC
* 3rd Place: KARAKAN INVEST LLC Team
For the first time in the history of these corporate games, the KARAKAN INVEST team managed to break into the top three leaders!
A total of eight teams participated in the tournament. Winners and runners-up received diplomas and cash prizes. Teams that did not place on the podium received letters of appreciation and consolation rewards.
