KARAKAN INVEST Group has held a series of commemorative events to mark the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
As part of the celebrations, the Novokarakan Secondary School hosted the "Spring of Victory" poetry recital competition. A tradition since 2022, the event saw students from grades 1 to 8 perform works by both classic wartime poets and contemporary authors.
This year’s distinguished guests included Margarita Mikhailova, Chair of the Konovalovo Veterans Council, and Valentina Petukhova, Chair of the Veterans Council for the villages of Evtino and Novodubrovka.
A total of 28 students participated in the competition. The jury awarded top honors to elementary schoolers Polina Gulyaeva (1st Grade), Evgeny Fertov (3rd Grade), and Ulyana Lavrentsova (3rd Grade). In recognition of their efforts, all winners and participants received gift certificates for a major retail chain.
In keeping with company tradition, employees of Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC volunteered to refurbish and landscape the grounds of the "In Memory of the Fallen of the Great Patriotic War" obelisk, one of the central landmarks in the village of Novy Karakan.
Furthermore, KARAKAN INVEST Group subsidiaries joined the nationwide "St. George Ribbon" campaign. Approximately 250 employees received the symbolic ribbons, which represent deep respect for fallen heroes and surviving veterans alike.
