II CORPORATE AMATEUR FISHING TOURNAMENT HELD

Karakan Invest Group of Companies held its second amateur fishing tournament for employees of the Group’s enterprises. The competition took place at a designated fishing area near the Belovo Reservoir. This was the second time the tournament had been held, following the inaugural event last year.

Employees of the Group had the opportunity to test their fishing skills and luck in specially designated areas. Each participant was assigned a specific fishing zone by drawing lots and was not allowed to move to another area.

Under the competition rules, participants were allowed to fish with one rod — either a float rod or a feeder rod for long-distance casting — equipped with no more than two hooks. There were no restrictions on bait, which was prepared by the participants themselves. Fishing with live bait or active tackle was prohibited.

Participants had two hours to fish, from the start of the competition until the final signal. The judges assessed both the number and total weight of the fish caught. A crayfish caught during the competition could also be counted as a fish.

The winners received cash prizes of RUB 10,000, RUB 7,000 and RUB 5,000 for first, second and third places, respectively. Participants could also win additional prizes of RUB 2,000 for catching the first fish, catching the largest number of fish, and catching the largest specimen.

This year’s catch included carp, roach and bleak. The largest fish caught weighed just 182 grams. Despite the modest catch and overcast weather, the tournament was held in a friendly and positive atmosphere.

The winners were:

1. First place – Oleg Kondratyev, Mining Transport Department, Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC. He also won the “First Fish” and “Largest Catch” nominations.

2. Second place – Ivan Ilyinykh, Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC Administration. He also won the “Most Fish Caught” nomination.

3. Third place – Ruslan Khugol, Maintenance and Repair Department, BELKOMMERCE LLC.

One of the participants also received a consolation prize.

After the tournament, all participants cleaned up the area, taking all their waste with them. All fish caught during the competition were released back into the water.
