Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC, a mining enterprise of the KARAKAN INVEST Group, continues its initiative to establish sanitary protection green belts. The latest planting stage was carried out by the management team.
Sanitary protection zones serve as a natural barrier separating industrial facilities from residential areas, positively impacting air quality and biodiversity. Additionally, landscaping helps reduce noise levels and wind loads.
In May, Shakhta Belovskaya employees planted 200 three-year-old spruce seedlings near the Evtinsky Perspektivny open-pit mining site.
The Holding is committed to minimizing its environmental footprint through regular tree-planting and land restoration projects. Between 2019 and 2025, as part of reforestation efforts, the company planted 98,000 bare-root pine seedlings across 24,000 hectares, along with 19,500 containerized (closed-root) pine seedlings across 9,000 hectares.
