For outstanding professional achievements and many years of dedicated service, Andrey Volkov, Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer at Shakhta Belovskaya CJSC, a mining operation of the KARAKAN INVEST Group, has been awarded the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland,” 2nd Class. The presidential decree conferring the state award was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin ahead of Miners’ Day.
Andrey Valeryevich Volkov joined the company in 2018 as Head of the Repair and Mechanical Maintenance Area. Under his leadership, repair processes were optimized, reducing unplanned equipment downtime and improving equipment availability. His initiatives have generated annual cost savings for the company through the implementation of excavator component refurbishment technologies, mobile welding and weld-boring stations, non-destructive testing methods for high-value components, as well as the optimization of welding operations.
In recognition of his consistently strong operational performance and contribution to the development of Kuzbass’s coal industry, Andrey Valeryevich has received a number of corporate and regional awards. He is actively involved in the Group’s corporate events, serves as a mentor to young employees and enjoys great respect among his colleagues. In March 2025, Andrey Volkov was appointed Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer of the company.
Today, the well-deserved award was presented to Andrey Volkov at the Administration of the Government of the Kemerovo Region. The medal was presented to Andrey Volkov by Kuzbass Governor Ilya Seredyuk.
